Meet Grayce! Grayce is blue Dobe, almost all of one year old. She is very special girl with special needs. She was abandoned to fend for herself, and was nearly starved by the time she found help. In addition to her bad luck, she has been diagnosed with cerebellar hypoplasia, a disorder in which the cerebellum is not completely mature at birth. This condition causes jerky movements and uncoordinated motion (she reminds us of a newborn deer). She will not get better or worse with age, and she has learned to compensate so well that we forget she's affected at all. She was also recently diagnosed with diabetes insipidus (different from diabetes mellitis). (more info available at http://www.petdiabetes.com/pdorg/diabetes_insipidus.htm) She requires medication every twelve hours. The medication can be costly. As "Wrestle-mania" is her favorite game she would do best as an only dog, or with other active dogs. She's up for play or a good walk anytime!. She is also deaf, but she is a smart girl and is picking up on hand sigals quickly. Since she cannot hear, a fence is mandatory for this little girl - she has been trained on Invisible Fence and loves to play outside. She currently weighs ~50 pounds - most of which are all heart. This girl has amazing courage and limitless love to give. She loves to snuggle and just be with people. She deserves a loving home and happy life. If you would like more information about Grayce, please contact us! Please Note: Applications are considered on an individual basis, and fencing is preferable. All adoptive homes must be within a reasonable distance from a DRAW volunteer for home visits and follow up care. A home visit, reference check and vet check must be completed prior to adoption.
